It has since grown into a multi-faceted gaming facility that has the distinction of being the only thoroughbred horse racing track in the state. and Rubico Gaming for $90 million from the Rickman family in 2021. The facility first opened in June 1937 as Delaware Park Racetrack and was the first pari-mutuel racetrack to open in the state and the only one to host Thoroughbred and Arabian breeds. The property was purchased by Canadian-based private equity firm Clairvest Group Inc. Betting on sports futures, props and lay betsĭelaware Park Casino & Racing is located in Stanton just outside the city of Wilmington, Delaware, about 30 miles from Philadelphia.
